Nicole. 21. Loves God, family and friends. Ready to chill out with anyone. Tries not to hold grudges. Has the funniest brothers in town and loves them to bits. Tries to enjoy every moment. Probably not the best at technological stuffs so kudos to Justin who helped me out with this(:
I love wednesdays! And especially today(: Despite the extended lectures due to Friday's holiday and the pouring rain, I was a happy kid for whatever reason. I see God breaking through and providing circumstances for restoration and interaction.
Oh yes. On the way home, at the bus stop, while the streets were drenched with rain and rain still splashing down in buckets, one SBS bus suddenly stopped 'working' and the bus driver kept trying to restart the engine but you could tell by the way he was shaking his head that the bus probably had to be declared 'broken down'. Had the urge to pray and I did so silently. I didn't know what I was praying but all I remember was asking God to make the bus work and that it would not cause inconvenience especially with the heavy heavy rain. Before I knew it, the bus sputtered back to life and was on it's way to continue the journey. I was glad but it was only when I boarded my bus that I realised God had answered my prayers. God! God of the Universe, above all kings, above all powers, above everything, had bothered to tune in to my quiet prayer and answer it, knowing how much joy it would bring. As I pondered over this thought, my heart was filled with thanksgiving. What joy it was to realise that God cared(:
That was one thing that made my day. Now for the second thing :D I was on my way to BPP after tuition to get Subway for my family since they all agreed on having that. My dad called half way asking me where I was and saying that he'll pick me up after I've gotten dinner. Normally, these calls are quite mundane to me but it hit me during the conversation that there are kids out there who wish their dads would call to check on them, show some love and pick them up to save them the hassle of taking public transportation. It was then that I realised that I should treasure such moments and I did. That sweet feeling of being loved crept in and I couldnt help but smile a little.
To top that off, there was a third thing that made my day. While at subway, there was this really friendly staff who helped out with my order. He was cool and did all the vegetable toppings and sauce for the 4 foot long that I ordered. To make it easier, I asked for all the sandwiches to have the same vegetables topped off with sweet onion sauce. He turned to his fellow staff who was still making the other two orders and chirped "Do you know why she wants sweet onion sauce? Cos she's sweet!" Awwww! So nice. As I got ready to pay, I looked at the counter and displayed was $35.20. Took out the money, ready to pay when he punched in some other stuff and the bill totalled up to $31.70 instead. Apparently, he gave me a 10% discount. Haha. I beamed and thanked him before heading off. Friendly service people make me smile more(:
